Small Grains can be used for grazing or grain production. In many areas a combination of grazing and grain production is possible for the same crop. Annual ryegrass is a highly productive winter growing grass that grows extremely well in Texas and the Gulf states. The quality of forage from both ryegrass and small grains can be very high. It is also possible to plant Small Grains and Annual Ryegrass together, providing an extended period of high quality grazing.
