Hegari

Hegari is an open pollinated, white-seeded sorghum.  It can be used for grain or forage and is also popular for game birds.  The high quality grain is highly palatable.  It is very drought tolerant and can handle poorer soil types.

Hegari is a full season forage that will mature in 115-125 days.  It has a slender stalk and will grow from 3–6 feet in height with very juicy and sweet stems and leaves.  Re-growth is fair.

Planting rates:

60-80 lbs. /acre for hay

40-50 lbs./acre for grazing
